A Big Step Forward for VCU and Richmond

We’re celebrating a big milestone for Virginia Commonwealth University: We have topped out the CoStar Center for Arts and Innovation.

When it opens in 2027, this extraordinary new building will bring visual and performing arts together under one roof while creating new opportunities for collaboration across VCU.

That is important because some of the most exciting ideas emerge when artists, scientists, engineers, entrepreneurs and health professionals see a challenge from different perspectives. The CoStar Center will give our students and faculty the space to experiment, perform, build and create together.

Located at Broad and Belvidere streets, it will also serve as a new gateway to VCU and a powerful symbol of the creative energy our university brings to Richmond and Virginia.

The final beam is in place. Now we can begin to see the remarkable possibilities taking shape beneath it.
